#notanotherABAmill

Why #notanotherABAmill? At Unique Pathways, we are not only proud to do things differently, but we also insist on breaking the glass ceiling of what is accepted in the ABA community. We believe in providing thoughtful, tailored care and value every member of our team. Our dedication to delivering ethical, effective, and personalized ABA therapy means we focus on the well-being of both our clients and staff. Unlike the so-called “ABA mills,” we emphasize quality over quantity, teamwork, ongoing professional growth, and a holistic approach to treatment, ensuring everyone feels cared for and respected.

#notanotherABAmill Principals and Promises

#notanotherABAmill

Individualized Treatment:

    • Each child’s program is tailored to their unique needs; we avoid cookie-cutter approaches.
    • Treatment plans are based on what’s best for the child, not what maximizes profit. We don’t believe in automatically prescribing excessive hours based on age.
    • We strive for meaningful change, not perpetual dependence on therapy.

Developmentally Appropriate Environments and Training

    • Our centers are designed with the child and staff in mind- promoting developmentally appropriate toys, furniture, and décor
    • Never sterile- only warm and inviting
    • Our team receives continual training in developmentally appropriate behavior and milestones
    • Our learners require movement and play- so do we! Our therapy is hidden in play for all our learners
    • Designated outdoor space to run, play, and soak up vitamin D

Valuing Our Team:

    • RBTs are treated as respected professionals, not just “warm bodies.”
    • Our team receives comprehensive training, ongoing support, and opportunities for professional growth, regardless of their department.
    • BCBAs are not placed on a pedestal; instead, they are seen as leaders who serve their staff and clients. Ethical guidelines are followed that are also best for the child and the team member.
    • We foster a collaborative team environment where everyone’s input is valued – RBTs, administrative staff, speech therapists, parents, and outside professionals (OTs, PTs, school personnel).

Holistic Approach:

    • We recognize the importance of collaboration with parents and other professionals.
    • Our BCBAs are trained not only in ABA but also in leadership and teamwork.
    • We emphasize the value of listening to different perspectives to provide the best possible care for the child.

Core Values:

    • We are an unapologetically Christian organization that values people over profit.
    • We are committed to the scientific approach of applied behavior analysis and speech therapy, grounded in ethical principles.

Our aim has never been to be the largest or to have centers on every street corner. Instead, we prioritize quality over quantity, dignity over appearance, and teaching tailored to the learner rather than forcing every learner into a one-size-fits-all approach. Finally, we focus on mentoring the next generation of professionals who seek to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children we serve.
